Our Vacation

This week William, myself and my parents took off for some R&R. Our first three days this week we drove up to Haliburton. My Aunt and Uncle have had a camp site there since I was born and I hadn't been back since I was 13, so I was very excited to spend some time there again. The highlight, of course, was the swing knot that goes out over the water. Pictures to follow. We also ate some Bass for dinner which was really good. We went canoing and did lots of swimming. The weather was beautiful.

Our second adventure took us South to Sarnia. There, we stayed with some good friends, did some sight seeing, shopping and swimming in their pool and at the beach. Again the weather was gorgeous.

We had a great week off and are looking forward to our youth group kick-off this Sept. 10.

Rush Day Camp Week 2

We have just finished another week of RUSH, with about half the number of kids we had our first week, so it was quite a different camp, but everything went smoothly. Well almost everything!!! We all went swimming the last hour we were camping up north and William decided to run into Georgian Bay after the kids and he hit some sort of a hole and rolled over on his left ankle. He is on crutches for two weeks with pulled ligaments! Hopefully he'll be done getting hurt for a long time now!

All in all we had a great week with 9 kids. It was quiet and relaxed and we were able to get to know each one on a deeper lever because of the smaller numbers. Again here are some more pictures.

Just hangin'

Am I doing this right?

My parents came down for the long weekend and we took a drive to the dry lift at Big Chute in Severn. It's pretty neat how it all works. Here are some pictures.

RUSH Day Camp

This week we had three different Jr. High Camps running. The one Will and I were helping to lead was called Rush. Our days starts early with staff devotions and prayer time and the then the kids arrive around 9am. We then have some games, worship, speaking and small groups. After lunch our team, this week, went tree top trekking, mountain biking and over night camping at Awenda Provincial Park. The park was beautiful and hardly any bugs, it was a blast. We had 19 kids and 5 adults this week in our RUSH camp.

Here are some more pictures.
