WE MADE IT!!!

We are here safe and sound in Honduras and we do have internet access!

We had an early start leaving from the school in Toronto at 2:30am and arrived at 10:55am in Honduras yesterday and met up with Dave and Esther. We waited for our luggage and got most of it, but 5 bags. Praise the Lord the 5 bags arrived today (Monday).

We hopped on the bus that took us up 2.5 hours to the school in Siguatepeque, unloaded our luggage and found our sleeping accommodations. We then had a tour of the school and dinner, then went to bed early, we were all very exhausted!

Today we were able to sleep in a bit. We started our day off with breakfast and personal devotions, then a prayer walk in and around the school grounds. Since then we have been setting up all our VBS rooms with crafts and decorations.

Praises:
Arrived safely in Honduras
Had a good nights sleep and feeling more energized

Prayer:
for Dan as he is sick with a head cold and has slept most of today. He is drinking lots of fluids and eating still, but just feeling tired and drained.

For our VBS as the children come tomorrow

For good rest tonight before our big week ahead of us

Strength for Dave, Esther and Eric as they give leadership to our team

Leaving the Miami airport

Our arrival in Honduras with all our luggage!

Bus ride to Siguatepeque. Derek not feeling so well in this picture, but with a little rest, he's feeling great today.

Bridge we had to cross on bus

Old bridge beside us washed out from earthquake 2 years ago.

Early morning devotions

Decorating the Commedor for VBS. This is where we'll meet for songs and games. Noely is on the left with Will, she is one of our translators.

Esther, Dave and Paul

Les and his cafe con leche (coffee with milk)!

Lyndsey enjoying a fresh mango from a mango tree in the school yard!

The foundation posts where we'll be building our playground at the school. We had a lot of rain overnight and some this morning as well, so hopefully most of it got our of its system so we can begin work tomorrow in a bit more dryer conditions.

The two men you see in the back, work for the school cutting grass. All that grass you see, as well as over on the large soccer field they have cut with gas whipper snippers only! They have been cutting for two days straight now! Extremely labour intensive. Makes us thankful for push and sit on lawn mowers!
